I am William Keith Powell, your current Deputy General Grand Master, and I respectfully request your support for the office of Most Puissant Grand Master. I was elevated to my present position on March 26, 2025, due to a vacancy, and was duly obligated and installed by Most Puissant General Grand Master William “Bill” Snyder to faithfully perform all the duties of this office. I am confident in my ability to continue fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to me and, with your confidence and support, to serve as your next Most Puissant General Grand Master for the 50^th Triennium. I am a proven leader, fully prepared to serve and advance the interest of “The Purple Family”, of which we are all proud members.

 

An Introduction

 

I am a Cajun-French Louisianan that has lived in Louisiana all my life. I am a graduate of San Houston High School in1971. I was a varsity football player, wrestler, and track letterman. I was the member of the French Club for three years. I graduated from McNeese State University, class of 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in General Administration degree. I was a member of Delta Sigma Pi, a business fraternity.

 

I began working with my father in his many businesses that he began. My working with the many types of customers taught me to serve them with my best personal business attention and character. After my father retired, I was hired by the State of Louisiana Hospital system from 1989 to 2013, when the State Legislature closed down the hospital system. I was the Materials Manager with tasks and duties of management of warehouse staff, property control, and writing of bids to contract all medical supplies and medical equipment, maintenance contracts, and any bid that required having a service contract.

 

From 1990 to the present, I have worked with a National Baseball organization where I have been elected to District Director, Assistant State Director, and State Director. I was a high school football official and their President for two-two year terms, officiated baseball/softball and their President for ten years, and a member of LIONS with being elected President with the honor of being the first 100% President,

 

I have been married to Sharon Lowery Powell for 48 wonderful years. We have one son, William Keith II, wife Ashley, granddaughter Clara Grace, and grandson William Clayton. We devote our time to be with our son and family, Order Eastern Star, Amaranth, and traveling to visit family.

By using regular Zoom meetings and other digital tools, we create a space where members can share ideas, support one another, and stay aligned on goals and initiatives.
