Preserving Knowledge for Future Generations
In 48 B.C., during the Siege of Alexandria, the armies of Julius Caesar set fire to the legendary Great Library of Alexandria, destroying tens of thousands of scrolls, manuscripts, and irreplaceable works of human knowledge.
Historians believe the loss was immeasurable. Countless discoveries, philosophies, scientific observations, and ancient traditions vanished forever, leaving us only to wonder what wisdom disappeared with them and how differently history might have unfolded.
While that knowledge can never be recovered, we can ensure that the history, traditions, and teachings of Cryptic Masonry are preserved for those who will follow us.
The General Grand Council Library exists to preserve our heritage, protect our history, and pass the Light of Cryptic Masonry from one generation to the next.
