A Christmas Message
By Illustrious Companion Will Highsmith
Whenever we think of Christmas, it is easy to think of lights, Christmas trees, decorations, family, gifts, and our favorite Christmas songs. These things all can add to our Christmas Experience.
However, to those of us who are Christians, the birth of Jesus should be heavy on our thoughts and minds during this time. There were roughly 400 years of silence between the Old Testament and the birth of Christ in the New Testament. The Jews at the time likely felt like they were forgotten and had lost God's attention until the angels appeared to the shepherds and wise men to announce the birth of Jesus.
Those of us who are Christians should take hope in that even in certain times like the weird year we've had, God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit are all there working for our good. Please take refuge in that thought.
In closing, please meditate and ponder over the first verse of O Holy Night which likely describes how that night felt so many years ago:
O Holy night! The stars are brightly shining
It is the night of our dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining
'Til He appears and the soul felt its worth
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn
Fall on your knees; O hear the Angel voices!
O night divine, O night when Christ was born
O night, O Holy night, O night divine!
